Geoff Baum for PCC Board 2026 ("the Campaign," "we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through geoffreybaum.com, how we use it, how we protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to information collected through this website, including our text messaging program.
Information we collect
When you sign up for updates, contact us, volunteer, add your name as a supporter, or contribute, we may collect your name, email address, mobile number, mailing address, ZIP code, and the content of any message you send us. Providing a mobile number is always optional.
Contributions are processed by a third-party payment processor. Contributor information is collected as required by California law.
This website may also collect standard technical information such as browser type, device type, and pages visited, through cookies and analytics tools.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to send campaign updates, event and volunteer information, and requests for contributions by email and text message; to respond to questions and messages you send us; to organize volunteer activity and campaign events; and to comply with campaign finance reporting obligations under the California Political Reform Act and the rules of the Fair Political Practices Commission. We do not use your information for any purpose unrelated to the Campaign.
Text messaging (SMS/MMS) program
The Campaign operates a recurring SMS/MMS messaging program. You join it by checking the opt-in box on a form on this website and providing your mobile number, or by texting a keyword to a number we publish. The opt-in box is never pre-selected, and consent to receive messages is not a condition of any contribution, volunteer role, or other participation in the Campaign.
Messages may include campaign updates and news, event invitations and reminders, volunteer opportunities, get-out-the-vote reminders, and requests for contributions. Donations will be solicited. Messages may be sent using an autodialer.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
To stop receiving messages, reply STOP to any message from us. You will receive one confirmation message and no further messages unless you opt in again. For help, reply HELP to any message, or contact us at info@geoffreybaum.com.
We do not sell or share your information
We do not sell, rent, loan, trade, lease, or otherwise transfer for profit any mobile numbers or personal information collected through this website or our messaging program to any third party.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties unless required by law.
Your information is used only by the Campaign and by the service providers who help us operate this website, send messages, and process contributions. Those providers are permitted to use your information only on our behalf and only to perform those services.
We reserve the right to disclose information where necessary to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, or governmental request, to avoid liability, or to protect our legal rights or property. Contributor information required to be reported under California law is filed with the appropriate state and local agencies and becomes public record.
Accuracy of information you provide
When you complete forms on this website or otherwise provide us information, you agree to provide accurate, complete, and truthful information, and not to use a false or misleading name or a name you are not authorized to use. If we believe in our sole discretion that information provided is untrue, inaccurate, or incomplete, or that a person has opted in for an improper purpose, we may decline that person access to the messaging program and pursue any appropriate legal remedy.

This website may use cookies and standard analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site. You can disable cookies through your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not function normally if you do.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you give us. No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at info@geoffreybaum.com and we will delete it.
Your choices
You may unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email, opt out of text messages by replying STOP to any message, or contact us at info@geoffreybaum.com to review, correct, or delete the information we hold about you. Information we are required to report under campaign finance law cannot be withdrawn once filed.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
